An Invitation to Apply for $100,000

The second and final phase of our fall, 2013 grant cycle has begun. Out of the 26 Letter of Inquiries we received, we selected seven Kern County nonprofits to apply for the $100,00 grant award.

The seven semi-finalists are:

• Bakersfield Homeless Shelter

• Bakersfield SPCA

• Boys & Girls Club of Kern County

• Critters Without Litters

• Girl Scouts of Central California South

• Kern County Museum Foundation

• Salvation Army, Tehachapi Service Center

The final application is due Monday, October 18. The Foundation’s board will meet on Friday, November 8 to deliberate on who should be awarded the $100,000 grant.

We received many compelling LOIs (Letter of Inquiries); narrowing it down to seven was very difficult. There are a lot of great nonprofits doing wonderful things here in Kern County.
